5.3 Truck engine

A friend of mine has a 2004 GMC Sierra with the 5.3 liter. He's getting headers, does anyone know where the EGR is on a truck? I know where it is on my LS1, but I haven't had too much experience with the trucks. Thanks.

Its probably pretty similar to your car if i had to guess. You might have better luck posting this in another section. This is gen1 sbc/bbc.

Yeah I had figured that. He'll probably have to pull the plastic cover to find it then. I know the 5.3 is also a gen III, I just somehow ended up here.

I have one and it mounts up just like the ls1 on the passenger side manifold except it goes in the side of the intake instead of the top.

i don't think headers are worth it on those 5.3s your better off getting a flowmaster 40 series and a air intake and tb spacer. imo

O4's don't have EGR and you will gain 20hp and 20ftlbs of torque with a set of longtube header. The air intake and exhaust is a good idea but the tb spacer is a waste of time and money. I have an 04 silverado which is the exact same.
