Default lowering oil pressure

Ive got a fresh built 496 that is making about 75-80#s of pressure at idle.. 1000rpms on a .700 lift cam!!!! cant go much lower!! But when oil watms up its slinging real bad out of the front pan lip. is there anyway i can try to lower the pressure or think some reason the 1 peice reusable pan gasket just didnt take right. valve cover wise its a set of fabricated covers with 2 cheap moroso push in brethers. is there anything diff i can try there or anywhere else before trying another pan seal??

I used a fel-pro gasket #fpp-1893,no leaks yet.My press is around 75psi cold at idle and around 50 to 60psi hot.......Just curious, what pump did you go with? I used a moroso hv/lp pump and pickup combo. I went the cheap route also useing push in style breathers Just a thought, but if you used a high volume/high press pump, you could swap that out for the high volume/low press settup.

i used the 1 piece pan gasket on a sbc and it didnt seal on the front either. i didnt know till it was in the car. the seal was loose on the fronk like the pan wasnt touching it or something so what i did was take silicone and put in between the pan and cover and it sealed it right up

It's always a good idea to check the fit of the gasket before you button up the oil pan, too many times it doesn't get any crush on it at all. The oil pressure should have little to no effect on the leak since that lip does not get pressurized oil to it, it only gets oil thrown at it. Check the breather grommets in your valve covers, if they are not cut out on the bottom the breather is useless and you will have big crankcase pressure and it will find the easiest way out.

check your front crank seal aka timing cover seal. also make sure there arent any lines worn into the balancer to let oil pass by, if so napa or any parts store should have a seal saver kit......20 bux or something, i run 75-85 psi cold and once it warms up its 60 while cruisin and i dont have any issues with oil leaks
