How does this sound?

89 2 bolt main 350 block, 60 over, KB flat tops, eagle stroker crank, and rods Advertised Duration 292/292, Lift .501/.501 comp cam, 3890462 heads ported & polished, air gap intake. in a 78 monte carlo. should i go with 350 or 700 tranny? what stall? what gears?

MAKE SURE you magnaflux the block, the 87+ blocks are not a winner for more than .040 over. I need to know the .050 duration, what year are the heads from, what size chambers? A th350 is cheaper and easier to make stronger, but a 700r on the street is nice, i say a 3000 stall with 3.73s.

You need to sonic check the block for cylinder wall thickness, magnafluxing is to check for cracks.
Sounds like a classic sbc build to me, 3000 converter and 3.73 gears should work.

the heads are 66-67 camel humps with 64cc chambers. dont know what valves
are in there but i am going to put 202 & 160s in them.

I would use a different cam than that one, as it is one of their older cam designs and have had newer lobe profiles available for the about same price. Here are a few different cams that will work a little better for you:
1) Comp Cams part # 12-250-3 284/296 240/246 .507"/.510" 110+4
2) Lunati part# 60105k 284/292 241/249 .525"/.546" 110+4
