I think I'm gonna go with a smaller motor (500" or so) right now with a 10-71. Alteast the long block will be built to handle the turbos later on if I decide to go that route. The local jetboat engine guru says he can get more power out of the smaller motor, so that sounds good to me. Plus running an intercooler that's having the cold lake water pumped through it will be good for some more power.

Yea a little more than $15k. $19,150 for a blown 632. For under $15K I can lose the blower and go N/A and spend around $1k on nitrous. But if I'm going the blower route I'm sticking around 500". That way I can run a 10-71.

Count on $1,200 PER dominator after somone dials them in.

The TT BBC I want to build is more then likley going to run me about 30k.

A local GOOD shop sells a 1,000hp pump gas BBC turn key minus carb for $14,000 to give you an idea. Throw a power adder on and the price starts to go up FAST!

My Turbos alone will be at least $1,200 each.

Also don't have to go EFI, CSU or whatever as some pretty sick blow threw carbs.

If ya want to play with the big dogs ya gotta have the big do sized wallet.

If this guy wants to put a 600 shot on that motor its going to be a SERIOUS nitrous engine with a SERIOUS price tag, if its even $20k I would say thanks but no thanks.

Remember size is not everything, to big of a cam hurts you more then to smal of one. My 468 BBC has SBC diameter headers on it and the car screams... to big is worse then to small.

How fast do you want the boat to go? I race a Texas Tunnel jet boat with an alcohol injected 472 (no exotic parts used at all). I race it in the Modified Eliminator class which is a 10.00 ET class. The boat will run 9.60-9.70 flat out without slowing it down to run the 10.00 class. There is another racer with the same style boat as mine, but 100 lbs. heavier that runs a 632 and a large shot of nitrous and on his best day is lucky if he can run competitively in the 9.00 class. With jet boats especially, there is a lot more to making them go fast than just dropping in a big motor. My experience has been that the proper jet pump set-up is as important if not sometimes more important than the motor.

You can build a 600+ motor and get good longevity. We currently build some 650'' marine engines. They get 300hrs before needing a rebuild. The key to building a marine engine is getting the valve train correct.Picking the right parts for the valvetrain should be done by somebody that builds alot of marine engines, otherwise you will end up with a dropped valve or other broken parts due to valve lofting or seat bounce.

I am probably going to get Garry Snow http://www.performancemarine.cc/index.html to build the motor and set up the pump if I don't find a boat that already has the pump set up. We run 1000' here at the local lake. I'm wanting to run 115+. I'm looking at getting either a Youngblood TX-20 or TX-19, or a Cheyenne TX-20. Garry said a smaller 500" motor with a 10-71 would probably be a decent motor. He said he can make a boat with that motor outrun a 600" boat with a 14-71.
