Default Distributorless Ignition for BBC?

Is anyone doing this? No distributor or rotor to wear out and shorter plug wires.

Never heard of any pretty much everyone is going digital (including distributor) or regular pro billet.

Problems with the distributor less stuff is its harder to trouble shoot, if you are EFI and dont get a code and are having an ignition problem then you have a lot more posibiities.

With a distributor, if the wires look good, check the plugs, check the cap and rotor.
Plug not firing check the wire, cap and rotor, rocker arms.

Thats all I had to do when my number 5 was not firing. A LS buddy of mine had headaches tring to figure out what was wrong with his ignition.

In a 5 gallon bucket nexy to me, has my entire ignition system minus plugs and wires.

Selling all of it and going full digital........ and maybe a crank trigger.

Is there an advantage to not having a distributor other than not having to replace the rotor every so often?

Depends who you ask on that honestly, each side has advangates and dis advantages....

Cap and rotors are cheap, I paid like $20 for my MSD cap and rotor........

A lot of the faster LS guys have a front mount distributor...........

Digital pro billet distributor, digital ignition box with built in spark retard.
Big money but worth it and faster then analog.
