Mechanical carb advice on the distributor needed I will use a mechanical carb and swich the distributor but I dont know which distributor will advance the timing by it self I searched but couldnt find anything useful is this will work fine and what other parts I need to go with? http://www.jegs.com/i/MSD/121/85551/10002/-1 how these distributors advance the timing? do they need to use timing computer? the car originaly is 92 Z28 TPI I will swap another engine with mechanical carb

I swapped another carb over onto my 87 trans am and also had to change my distributor. I chose to go with an old style vacuum advance HEI distributor like this one http://www.jegs.com/i/MSD/121/8362/10002/-1. It uses a a hose from a vacuum port on the carb to the small diaphragm on the distributor to advance the timing. You'll have to do some wiring work with your old coil wires but they also sell a kit with the plugs you'll need http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/10552/10002/-1
