307 heads on a 355??

Default 307 heads on a 355??

i have a 307 in my chevelle and i just bought a 355 with stock 350 heads. would i gain any if i put the 307 heads on my 355? would this work just need any info about this. let me know any secrets thanks-matt

You would lose, gain lower end torque maybe. Get some vortecs and you would be verry happy.

you would be wasting your time

i agree with zones89rs find yourself some vortec heads because they will flow worlds better than those 307 heads

the vortecs are getting pretty cheap these days as well i found a set with only 18,000 miles on them for under 400 bucks they will just needed a little machine work for higher lift and larger springs

yeah, the smaller cc chamber will require higher octane(it will raise ur compression ratio) then you need now and a lot of time for tuning.......by the time ur done you will regret not putting on the vortec's

they will help the motor on the low end, but choke it on the high end.

before u spend any money, get the casting number from ur old heads and check the specs.......it could be that the only differance is the combustion chamber cc's.

also, know that if ur not the original owner, no telling what heads u have on the 307
