327 or 350?
I was just wondering the new 5.3L chevrolet small blocks out in just about all truck's and suv's. What is the technical name for the block, anyone give me true perofrmance bias of both engine's. What's the advantages of a 327, i have a friend who want's to put a 350 in his 3rd gen but i've seen people put 327s in them. How hard would it be to just change the intake out and put say a 4barrel carb on a 327 would it still be competitive if everything else is left the same and cheap

The "new 327" isn't a first gen small block, and it isn't a 327.
It's a third gen small block, basically a small-bore LQ4, and I believe it is 323 cubic inches.
Car Craft made 430 fly horsepower on one of these with just a cam swap.
