With the old cam it made 650hp on the rollers (at J&B). The new numbers at the wheels are unknown, although substantially larger. It's a 430ci all aluminum small block, 18* heads, 11.5" ET Streets, and they're figuring a mid-9 out of the car. So, with a "little helper bottle" that would be a low-9 car.

Low 9's with a sbc in a Nova is not impossible but it will be expensive,especially n/a.
I have a 76 Vega full cage narrowed 9",all aluminum 406,AFR 227 comp. cnc,roller cam on alcohol that just went 9.99 lifting at about 1100'(it only went 127 mph),this car has a nitrous converter in it so it would probably go 9.50's with the correct converter for n/a.
I do drive this car on the street but it is not a street car,it is rather difficult to live with in traffic,it still has working windows and all legal functions

Just goes to show, sometimes there's more than meets the eye.
