going to cali emissions question!

going to cali emissions question! So I'm going to cali for a month, and I'm needing to know about emissions stuff. My car doesn't have cats and is loud as most TD systems are. I'm pretty sure if I say I'm just visting and that I don't live in California I'll be fine. Any input anyone???
No, you will not be fine unless you have a nice cop. Dumps are illegal and attract a lot of attention. So much so that they will have you pop your hood. If emission items are removed, they can impound your car (since emission systems are federal, not state driven). They also have their window tint law set up to where ANY car driven in the state has to abide by it. Do yourself a favor, and leave your car at home. I was stationed out there for two years, and my car rarely left the base. If you do take the car, be careful, and keep your eyes and ears open.

Yea, theyre pretty harsh. I had to take a car in when I was at my dads a few years ago, and the AIR was unplugged and they flipped their ****. GLTY. lol. You will probably get pulled over solely for your exhaust being loud.
damn where do all you people live that have to pop your hoods and ****? i have a y-pipe dumped after the axle, long tubes and and it's decently loud (until i get an x-pipe and bullets in april). i haven't been pulled over for my tint, and it's at 15%. then again, i'm in the middle of nowhere, and rarely go to the city areas. i occasionally go to laguna beach or the beach area (never pendleton).
EDIT: just let off the gas when you drive by them. that's what i did when i ran open headers for a few weeks.
