Default For my sister

Does anyone know how much it would cost to get a 98 Catera engine rebuilt?

Cadillac catera with the V6! I rebuilt one about 2 years ago at work. Was probably the worst engine rebuild I've ever done, and we charged the customer a pretty good amount. Definantly won't do another one. I guess the answer to your questions is all going to depend on where you take it. I work for a GM dealer and if memory serves me correctly it was close to or a little more than 5k. The parts aren't necessarily the expensive part, labors is where they will get you because those ******* are a pain to work on. I'd rather drop the motor in a camaro, corvette, or mustang any day! I think it paid me somewhere around 25-30 hrs labor at $95.00 per hour (what they charged cause I only got $23 per hour of it, lol) plus the parts and gaskets. Good luck. Your sister might be better off getting rid of it.

Okay but the problem is that somewhere in her engine the coolant and oil is mixing and her car keeps running hot. So I'll tell her to get rid of it.
