I do have ls1 come out from 2001 Trans Am 75k miles, had fire and black cover on it. I took it to machine shop to washed out and check on it..The guy of machine shop, it is good condition and no damaged. Surprised me it is good condition.
The pistons/crankshaft /everything out already out from motor and still good shape..
The motor is in machine shop..

Started pecking the other day..its not in the valve train...260K+ miles...guess I got my moneys worth out of it......I am open to a 5.3, 5.7, 6.0 or what ever..guess im just going to band aid it and build a big motor over the winter...but I hurt my shoulder recently and tore my right rotator cuff...going to have surgery in the next week or so ....gonna have to buy something with a A/T in it...gonna be in a sling for a couple of months...geeeze:... talk about bad timing... ... do you know of a reliable beater for sale?

Most of the locals are 5 speeds. I'll keep an eye out for a beater and a block. We get tons of both on our local facebook page (savannah car crew)

Found a 61,000 mile 2001 LS1 short block for $500 locally.
