Default Another One for Spartan Performance!

Just got my car back from Spartan Performance and I can honestly say that I've been missing like an 1/8th of my car's power/performance all these years from poor tuning. They did an AMAZING job and my car feels the best it ever has just wanted to let everyone know who is looking for a tuner in the south -- if you have standards, call Josh

Seriously, top notch tuning and shop

...and I don't say that lightly (or often)

Everyone who I've talked to who is a customer of theirs says the same thing (including myself now) -- and that's rare because I roll with a tough crowd!

This seems to be pretty consistent feedback from everyone that works with Josh. Nice to find someone who takes that level of pride in his work!

While I don't want to turn this into a Vengeance bashing thread, I can say that they tuned my car first and they put it on a dyno for a few minutes and lowered the idle, changed the timing a little and did some other things for 1/4, 1/2, and WOT performance (I think is what they said).

Josh took my car for a few days and tuned it on the street and identified things you wouldn't know were going on by putting it on a dyno. There were things going on with my car that I didn't know where tuning issues so if I took it to somewhere that did dyno tuning, those problems would never be identified and corrected...

Please do not take my reply as argumentative as that is not my intention. We work with Josh @ Spartan often and have what we consider a great relationship with him.

That being said, please read your reply from SEVEN YEARS ago when your tune was completed with what most would consider outdated software (EFI Live V1).....

i got my formula tuned there a few months ago, they were nice people and they got my car in there pretty quick, and were nice enough to tune it on a saturday , which most places will not do.
if you do alot of modding and need a retuning alot , they are good to go with, the first tuning price covers retunes , so you only pay for dyno time after that.
btw i need to take my car back there for a retune since it's getting a major change to the engine soon.

That's pretty in line with what I posted. That you guys do dyno tuning. I was working my way up to building a track car back then so dyno tuning was all I really cared about. My car was also stock at the time too. Now it's a heavily modified car that I want to enjoy driving on the street. I didn't post anything negative about you, Mike, or Vengeance...I also didn't really even say anything about the performance improving from the Mike/Vengeance tune either when I made that post 7 years ago, just that you guys were nice and took me in on a Saturday. Then again, maybe I didn't know how to communicate to you guys what I wanted back then (and I was like 19 and just getting into LS1 stuff), so maybe the reason I felt underwhelmed by my own miscommunication.

Out of the three places that have tuned my car, Josh has delivered what has impressed me the most, not trying to be rude towards anyone else. I wasn't even going to say anything about another shop until someone else implied they wanted help deciding.

Before we get to off topic. You Did say you like Josh and work with spartan. Point of the story is. She was very happy with spartan and liked his work. If you guys are friends or work together sometimes you should be happy josh is getting good feedback. Yes she went to vengeance once but obviously changes her mind on where to go or wasn't 100 percent happy. It happens. Can't make everyone happy and if Josh made her happy then Kudos to Josh for another happy customer. Either way it's been 7 years since she was at vengeance so another shop must be making her happy. It happens.

Like I said above I did not chime in to be argumentative. My point was comparing a 7 year old tune with outdated software isn't really a fair comparison. Also bringing us a 99% stock car for a tune is not the same thing as taking someone a modified car as BeTTy did with Josh. BeTTy is correct that modified cars do need extensive street time to verify multiple parameters are correct and that this information cannot and will not be found during dyno tuning on a NON load bearing dyno.

I am happy Josh is getting good reviews and I am sure if he reads this he will chime in and confirm our relationship... I simply wanted to point out we do much more than "dyno tune" and that a stock car and a modified car will not see the same results from a tune.
