Default first time @track...

Friday night was the first time I had ever raced at a track. The first time I launched I ran a 13.92, then a 13.22 and the last was a 13.12.My best trap was 2.02 and my best reaction was .049.With my mods I'm told I should be able to run into the 12's but you gotta start somewhere.

enjoy the car...learn about it and dont worry about what it "should" run. It will with time and great 1st time out!!!! 2.0 60' is great first time out...beats my 2.4s

Throw on a good set of sticky tires and a better rear gear and you should have no problem hitting 13 flats or 12.9s

I should be able to do that now because I had problems in first every time either with slipping or wheel hop and didn't shift right all night(Rpm wise).I have 275/40/17 but they hooked up pretty good when I got them hot.If I had stickies and a 3.73 I should be well below 12.One of the guys I raced had a T/A almost like mine but the only difference was he had a 3.73 and no headers.I still have a 3.23 and I only beat him by .7 with him beating me of the line.

Congrats on getting started!!!

so...just how addictive is it?

I don't wanna mess with my daily driver, but am seriously pondering getting an older F-body and building a racer, even if it takes a few years adding what I can, when I can afford it...

It's pretty ripped( going to the track) and the good thing is that this car was bought for play but I don't want to do too much either.Probably about 400-450- to the wheels.I know I've got to do some suspension to keep the wheels sticking to the ground and probably a heads/cam package next year.

Yea, definately get a good set of AFR heads and a TSP cam and you'll be happy. A good tune may also help you after doing the full exhaust and elminating the cats.

I just ordered some UMI LCA's for my wheel hopping and some Nitto 555R's for traction.I also have a 3.73 that will be put in before Friday so it should be interesting this weekend!

Calm down my dear,I was just happy to be dragging!I thought it was pretty cool even though the track was slick. There was lots of people & 75% were street legal like me.If I don't like the Nittos I'll buy some MT ET Streets and try them out.Where is SDR?

Not bad runs at all. Get those sticky tires on and your gears in and a good stall and u will be well into 12s. Sometimes I miss my automatic. But why are you manually shifting it? Mine did a heck of a job on its own, especially after the rebuild

I'll probably get a stall next spring.I manually shifted it because of the spinning &wheel hopping so hopefully with the drag radials and the suspension mods I can let it go or try programming the shift points with my Diablo.
