Default Throwing Serp Belt
I'm close to throwing my belt almost everytime I hammer the gas...what will this cure the problem? I have a brand new 4060755 Gatorback on there now.

I'm guessing an after market belt tensioner will fix this???

Inspect the pullies and if they are all Ok I would replace the belt tensioner. Do you have an aftermarket underdrive pulley?

Yup. ASP underdrive pulley. I think I found the answer at Katech.

I've been running an ASP UD pulley for years.... no problems-

My vote is a loose tensioner.... but I'm usually wrong

I'm sure it's your tensioner. The spring inside it is scrap metal now.

You can buy a new/used GM one or get the mechanical/Katech.

yeah many have not had problems with them, but there are some out there that claim to have thrown belts because of the asp pullies. More than likely though it is the tensioner.

The Katech piece is nice - I just had Tick Performance install my tensioner and rod bolts (and a bunch of other goodies) at the same time. Dyno results thread soon.
