Naww man i cant drive the TA everyday. Gotta keep the miles off of it so it will last me awhile until i can afford the stroker . Hoping to pick up the TH350 next week or early the next week.. Cant wait bc as soon as the tranny is in the cam and stuff is going in. So late february ill be up and running, hoping for some low 7's in the 1/8 on the jug .

Oh and ive gotta get a car bc ive got a bunch of old stuff except for the LS1 and they are all on borrowed time lol, so i need a new car. So it will help me start my credit to..

Hey, if i were you, GM makes a Cobalt SS non-supercharged, that is about 15k. There still 2 door and still look nice, hey just have 17's instead of 18's and not such a big spolier, and oh course no blower.

Ya but i seen a couple of them and they are mostly like 17-21k thats the usual price i see them for. I guess i dont really need to get into a really high payment anyways. Also the im looking at the hatchback version which doesn't look bad.

Correct, If I had it to do again when I was 18 or 19 I wouldve just saved my money. I dont regret my car as its paid for now but I wish I was saving instead of making payments. Just go to your bank fill out a loan application and see how much you can get approved for, then go buy something for that amount. It will build you credit also.

I used to go borrow like 1500-2000 twice a year put the money in my savings, pay 5-6 payments them pay off the loan. Thats how I started getting credit. Now Im almost 23 and have perfect credit. Not to bad I dont guess, 22 with a house, truck, car, bike all paid or being payed for by me.

So with that do they have to pull your credit?? Bc i know credit inquiries are bad for your credit.. Ive heard that each inquiry like deducts 10pts off your score. Well with this cheap of a car the payment wont be bad at all maybe $200-$250 month W/O insurance.

They should, yes. Ive never seen points come off my credit score because of them checking it. Not saying its not true but havent had it happen to me. 19k car payment would be more then 200-250 a month. I financed $12 on my truck and paid $5000 down and its $297 a month.

No the $200-$250 is for the aveo lol. Ya well i know when you go 2 buy a car and they have to check your credit, and i was told by my parents that you dont want people checking your credit all the time bc its bad for it and causes it to lose points each time its checked. I would like to get a credit card that has the 1st 6 months interest free and use it for the payments and kill 2 birds with one stone on the 1st 6 months and that would look good for me . I know after that 1st 6 months it gets jacked up to like 20% lol.

Your parents are 100% right. If you go somewhere like bill heard, when they check your credit, they send it out to about 5 different places, so thats 5 inquiries. Its best to just get the loan through your bank. Just do what i did, i went to the bank and got a $1200 loan or $1500 and then go buy a cheap car. I got my civic for 1 grand, its not a looker LOL, but it gets me back and forth to work and gets 30mpg.

Well ive got my beater car, i dont want to deal with any more used and old stuff lol. Im doing this to establish some credit, so i can start getting ready for real estate which is what im planning on doing later down the road. I think im bout to open up a credit union and then i can get financed through them. But was really wanting to get financed through GMAC so that when the new camaro comes out i can get one .

If you take out a $1500 loan it will help your credit. I bank with redstone federal credit union, and they are great. I would try them if they are in your area. I dont think you will have any problem getting financed through GMAC, because i did. I got my 2005 Cobalt SS/SC for 18,500 out the door. I didnt think they would give it to me without a co-signer, but they did. The guy said they like to help young people out with there credit.

Yep, Ill never own another one. Did ya'll drop the kmember? Dont think the pickup tube will clear the pan if you dont. And just think, people complain about swapping the LS1 oil pump. At least its on the front and you can get to it easily. Good luck man.

BTW- it may not even be the pump, had and LT1 I was working on one time that had a good 3/4in sludge in the bottom on the pan, it was tick like tar and the pickup tube screen was clogged with rubber gasket maker. Put it back together after cleaning everything and sure enough it worked like a charm.
