I was going to post that if no one else did. What happened to everybody? I think a few of us are going to ride to Steele tonight so maybe we'll see some of you there.

 

im in ashville...looks like i missed the meet though. wish i had saw this thread earlier. Zmnypit thats a wicked Z you got. seems like i have seen you around springville. i go to steel once in awhile but i havent been in awhile for fear of breakin the 10bolt. lol

cool im just down the road from you. im out on highway 23 just past county road 36 that goes to where you live.
i hope you havent seen my car in the past week or so...it looks bad lol. it will be in the shop for body repair come tomorrow. i kinda had an incided on labor day with a 10 point buck out on 231 past the high school.

hey vann im having some problems just going to see if you may know what it could be. well the other day on my way back from the track it was misfiring so i put some new TR6 plugs in it and that cured the misfire. Then saturday night i was coming back from the Galleria and got on that rough *** section of 59. When i got off the interstate i noticed a noice and a vibration when i would take off and shift gears (low rpms) it nearly sounds like its hitting the floorboard but i cant really tell. Do you think it could be a mount maybe? Thanks Josh

 

Could be a trans mount, but I would suspect a clutch issue after the way it was acting friday night. Something in the trans may have let go also. Its hard to say really. My y-pipe used to bang the floor board due to a bad motor mount but you still have the stock y-pipe so I doubt thats the problem. It could be alot of things. Maybe a U-joint also. Do you have access to a lift?

 

sounds like the exhaust to me too. i have an ORY and it used to bang like that when i got on it hard alot...they all will sometimes. i have the TSP ORY and it was ok. sometimes you can take a prybar and coax them down. it got to the point where i got it on the lift, loosened the clamps, and drove a 2x4 between the pipe and the trans mount to space it out. then took the wood out and tightened it back up....hasnt done it since.
that worked for me...but like vann said get it on a lift to see whats up.

 

We put his car on a lift and didn't really notice anything out of the ordinary...the y-pipe seemed a little loose, even though it's all welded. Mine might be the same way, not really sure. I never really noticed anything different, but he said the sound comes and goes and it's only at low rpm's, not when he's getting into it.

 

It prolly not the Y-pipe beings he's still on the stocker. Im guessing its clutch/trans related. With it getting stuck in 3rd like that. Just tell him dont be a panty waste and drive it till it quits..... JK!

 

Im going to. What you doin friday. I was hoping to maybe get the hook up on the ET streets and give it hell and see what i can run.

 

Dont have anything planned as of yet. You know I got to thinking the other night these may not work on your car. I had to grind my calipers, and also run spacers. I have the ARP 2 1/2 in wheel studs also. With out those studs Id be scared the lug would go on far enough and brake the studs. Ive never ran then with stock studs so im not sure it they will work. There 15x8 weld drag lights. We can try though.

BTW- if your wanting to go to steele you should go on a sunday that way all the ricers and kids in momma and daddys grocery getters arent up there. Just a suggestion.

Im interested, just gota figure out how to get my LCA reloaction brackets off with screwing them up. they are welded on. I wish I had everything to swap gears then we could just do that instead. Getting them aligned is the problem. You could find you a set of 4.10's in the sale section then have those installed selling me your 3.42's. You prolly wouldnt see much of a difference going from 3.42's to 3.73's maybe a little.

 

Just wondered what everyone was up to. It's been kinda quiet lately. A few of us are going to ride up to Steele on Friday night, anyone else gonna be there?
