Good Shops in SC I am the the AF at Shaw, and was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to have an LS1 swapped into a 63 Chevy II while I will be deployed. I'd love to do it myself, but sadly the wife won't let me have car parts all over the garage, and if I can save a bunch of headache by having someone swap it over for me while I am gone, that way I'll have the cash flow too. I am looking for anything within about 2 or so hours from me to include Charlotte, Augusta, and pretty much anywhere in SC, but the closer, the better.

I got hooked up with some of the car nuts in Sumter just before I left. That car shop right next to Sebastians is where they meet at on most nights. You should see a yellow Cobra parked out back of it, if you do go in there and introduce yourself. Most of those guys post on carolinarides.com as well man.
Let me know if you need any help with it. I can try to get you their numbers, I'm deployed right now so I have to call the roomie to get into my cell.

Yeah, I'll hopefully be leaving again in September, don't know where, but anywhere but Shaw will be nice again, especially the pay, just got back from Kuwait last Oct, this time it'll be 6 months instead of just 4-5.

There isn't really a big car group at Shaw which sucks IMO so its hard to find places that are actually good at their jobs. The muffler shop down by Autozone is awesome if you have any exhaust problems and hella cheap. Far as the rest of the stuff goes...I honestly go to Panama City and hook up with my car club and get it done there. Nothing like working on cars on the beach while drinkin
If you don't wanna go that far, I know a lot of shops in Atlanta. There are few up in NC, but I've never been up to them. Thread Starter

Ended up finding a new place right outside the gates of Shaw called Macon Moore Performance ran by a guy named Dave. They have a great bunch of guys in there and he said if I get all the parts together, he can put em in for less than 2k, which is cheaper than I thought it was gonna be. Right now they have nothing but LS cars and a bunch of Cobras in there, one of which I believe is gettin a 408 Chevy in it.
