Default Laid off from work....:(:(:(:(

Well a few of you know me and some don't. I'm not looking for pitty or hand outs. Does anyone know if anyone is looking for some help. I was laid off from Thomas Concrete today.. I was a Assistant Plant Manager with almost a years experience. My manager was a former Marine and a awsome trainer, and taught me how to run a effiecent plant while managing man hours. I was doing a average of 1500 yards a day. I have the will power to succeed, and the demand to live.. I want to be somebody, and make someone some money!!

Well that blows. Bad timing w/the new baby and a PITA finding a new gig/re-establishing yourself, but has been my experience that it is usually for the better in the long run.

Cindi lost her job to coorporate bean counters two weeks ago. She's been real frustrated that she hasn't landed anything quickly, but it too will work itself out.

Update the resume.... keep your head right, and it'll seem like a blessing shortly-

Dude that really sucks for ya!! Everything will work out for the better, just keep in there. You sound like you got a good head on your shoulders. So I think with a head like that you be just fine and working another job soon. I got layed off once too, but I sat at home for about a month and than went lookin. Good luck with the job search.

that sux! My wife is about to take a new job with the govt for the retirement/benefits and start out with a 45k a year pay cut from her current job. I am about to be officially poor AKA financially challenged
Go have your wife apply for welfare/food stamps in the mean (if you cant find another job soon) time while you arent working. No I am not kidding. I was in the same boat as you in the 1990s when my daughter was born and I did the same thing. It damn sure hurt my pride but helped keep my family afloat until sunnier times came along.

If you can operate a forklift apply at a few of the larger trucking places (estes, r&l, aaa cooper, etc) probably $22-$24/hr avg up to 60 hours a week, donno what you were making before, but it could hold you off til you could find something better.

Just an idea. Donno whats available up there.

Peace,
Josh
