It looks cool as **** if you ask me. The 5th Gen Camaro will not look anything like the 4th Gen. They need to appeal to more people like the Mustang does. The other picture on Firebirds Forever is way to retro.

I think the 1st post is UGLY! GMs going down some weird roads w/ their designs. Altho im not much on retro styled cars, i think the orange/black 5th gen is BADASS looking. Drop in that new Gen IV too, and that thing would scream

* no retro OR grand prix looking platform (like the GTO looks to me).. I love the aggressive look of our t/a's and camaros especially the SS and WS6 models and I'd be in line to purchase a new one when they come out

Re: New 2007 Camaro? IMO GM will not go retro on the 5th Camaro. They want to appeal to the younger generation not their parents. GM marketing looks at what the under 30 or even under 25 years olds want. They couldn't careless about the how the older generation views the cars aimed at the younger generation.
The car on the Firbird page looks good except the front is way to 1st Gen. I like 1st Gens but I hate that nose on a 5th Gen concept.
GM will protect the styling they will actually go with for a while longer. They may float many concepts etc.
As for retro styling, it would sell great for about two years then fizzle out once the novelty wore off. Look at the T-Bird. ~2 years ago a local Ford dealer was selling them for $20,000 over window sticker and getting it. Now the same dealer runs adds in the newspaper touting the big savings on T-Birds due to rebates/discounts etc because they don't sell all that well now.
Check out an 04 Malibu, looks like an import...that's the style...and it's actually a decent looking car all in all...that's the general direction the bowtie is moving in...
It will be rear-wheel drive IMO.
I like the base, Z28, SS models very similar to an idea I posted about 2 years ago in every detail except I had an RS in there too between the base and Z28.

Actually, that's a concept called the G6. It's not replacing the Firebird, but it may be replacing the Grand Am in '05 or '06....

Can they do two things for me? Clean up the bck, and aerodynamisize the front! That is right I created a word. The car needs a shot of 1st gen(angleing the front like the first generation) or a shot of 4th gen( angleing the front like our camaros). I like the grill, and the lights, but got a question......why not make a 2 door version of he SS concept, now that would be bad ***!

word. either way i hope it doesnt turn into some frickin family car. couldnt stand to see more old guys behind some camaro they have no idea what to do with. but i give GM more credit than that. my question is, and has been, whats the point of all the "other" SS vehicles? stick to the camaro...a silverado, impala, or whatever else is not meant to have a super sport engine. its just wrong.
