Need some help... I'm usually in the truck section, but I have a question for those of you with some info on the f-body's.
I'm probably going to be selling my truck next month ,and I was out looking at some suv's for sell this past satuday.
A local small car lot hs a 98 SS camaro with about $7k done in extras (so the guy says). The car itself has 59k it's black with an red-orange stripe going down the middle. It has black leather and a 6 speed.
Well I asked him what all he had done to it , and he said= ported and polished heads,cam,new springs, pushrods, lifters... and other little things. It has 4:10 gears and a centerforce clutch. Hooker headers no cats and flowmasters that dump before he rearend. He also had the factory 5 star wheels chrome dipped.
I asked him if I could take it for a spin, but there was a guy there that was going to load it up and go do some adjusting on the valves, and some tuning to the maf.
So I'm just wondering if you guys think that car is worth what he is asking $14,900 ? I respect yall's opinion so if it's not worth what he's asking then just tell me. The thing I would be most worried about is it not wanting to run right since I know that the old man who owns it doesnt have edit, but TEA in bowling green could probably straighten it out if it was too bad.

Re: Need some help... As long as there is nothing really wrong with the car {just needs tuning}, it's a great deal.
That is a crapload of basically free mods.That's under what a bone stock SS goes for around here. It almost seems like "too good" of a deal so just check it out really good or get someone else to check it out. Hope it really does need just tuning, you would get a heck of a deal.

Re: Need some help... I plan on going this saturday and driving it. 
IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO BE LOOKING FOR!!! I dont really know what an LS1 idles at as far as RPM wise, so if it idles too high is that a sign of it needing to be tuned ,or that the cam is too big?
If I can i'm going to get cam specs, and let yall know what size it has. I really dont know what size is too big for a stock tuned SS so any help there would be app.
