Default Is this rare?

I have a 98 Camaro SS I have been doing research on these last few days and was wondering if it was rare car or not. It is a 98 SS Y2Y code made in Canada red with Key Fobs & Dash Plaque, Floor Mats, Car Cover, Performance Lubes, Hurst Shifter, Torsen Differential, and Exhaust. It also came fully loaded from the factory with t-tops, Monsoon 12-disc, 6-speed, leather interior, and power driver seat. With 85,000 miles

Thank you

More rare than a Z, but not sure on production numbers. I'm sure you can find them though somewhere (I did for mine but can't remember where). You can find how many of them with that color, those options etc. Nice ride though dude, take care of it.

There were a lot of 98 SS made but they all did not have the same SLP option's order but it is not a rare car. It may be worth something someday.

What color is it? It will be a little more rare because it sounds like it has pretty much every SLP option, but its nothing that is going to bring big money compared to another SS if you were to sell it. Basically you have a nicely optioned SS.

Sorry but in these economy I see it VERY unlikely that he would get 12k for it. My brother just bought a 98 SS with only 45k on it for 10k. It had some nice options too, not a M6 or the differential but pretty much everything else with a couple bolt ons. I think 9k-10k if the perfect range for this car in this economy.

Exactly that may be the perfect range, but if he hopes to get 9-10 for it, he needs to ask for 11 or 12 . Personally, I could get more for it than what you are indicating they are worth. An unmolested (or barely molested) fbody can be worth a pretty penny to the right buyer, and believe it or not, even in this economy, muscles cars are on the rebound. Our cars are going to be worth more and more, however the T/As might be a little more sought after than the Camaros since the new model is a reality now, and people like to have the latest model, or one of the oldest models usually. So imo, sell it now (before there are too many new SSs rolling around), or hold onto it for dear life until it becomes a collectors car (this may take some time so don't hold your breath lol) and sell it as such. Good luck though OP.

Don't forget, it may have lower miles but to some people a late 90's vehicle often just seems a lot older than the post 2000 models. It's just the nature of how we think. I personally prefer low miles over newer, but not everyone is like me.

Yeah but the guy who is selling his car has a 98 SS as well. Some I'm comparing a 85k mileage 98 SS M6 with pretty much all SLP options with aftermarket wheels to a 45k mileage 98 SS A4 with almost all the SLP options with the factory chrome ZR1's. There is no doubt that a 01 or 02 WS6 or Firehawk can bring in more, but from what I've seen the cars have gone down a little in price. You're right its all about what the buyer wants, but I'm not trying to get the guy's hopes up and tell him his car will sell for 12k because I highly doubt it will. I bought my SS for less than that about a year ago with similiar mileage and it being a 2002 with the 345 hp package.

Well I paid 13900 for my Firehawk with 88000km (I dunno what's that 50,000miles or something? see I'm Canadian eh). That probably sounds like a lot to you, but where I am it's weird. Some will sell for ridiculously high prices, yet others are damn near giveaways. It just seems so buyer motivated up here, and location motivated. I mean If you know what an LS1 car is, and want one, they are a little fewer and further between here so people pay more than they should to get one. I don't know it that makes any real sense but I do see what you mean about not getting the guys hopes up either.
