first off i dont know if this is the write place to post this.

my z28 is a 1SC which i thought meant that it was totally stripped of all options. my car only has CD player and A/C, i dont evan have rear defrost! now correct me if im wrong but didnt those 2 "options" come standard on all fbody's regardless of v6, z28, or ss, trans am , ws6???

i see people out there claiming they have a 1SC and they have fog lights or rear defrost or some other option on the car. are these cars really 1SC's?? if so im guessing there are different options you could get and still have a 1SC code??

A/C and Monsoon sound were standard equipment on all f bodys. I also have a 1SC that came with two options, Hurst shifter and Z rated tires (no speed limiter). I still have the origional window sticker. You could get just about any option added to the 1SC cars.

Have you ever ran yours at the track? I was wondering if they would be any faster than a fully optioned car like most of them are.

 

thanks for the help. and no i have not taking my car to the track. the nearest 1/4 mi track is 2 hours away from where im at. and i want to get some drag radials before i go, since i have shitty sumitumo tires lol.

 

the 1SCs have been shown to be just marginally faster then a loaded car. one or two tenths, at most. im fairly sure the 1SC was just a starting point as far as options go. you can then add other options to it, like fog lights or rear defrost. an 02 1SC makes a great starting point for a road racer.

pontiacs were different. i dont think there was a stripped model offered, as pontiac was always a step up from chevy. im pretty sure power windows/locks, cruise, rear defrost, were all standard, from firebirds to TAs. i wish there was a stripped option, as i would have gotten it when i bought my TA.
