I recently passed the 140,000 km mark on my 1999 Trans Am Firehawk.
Deciding to freshen up the shocks, I bought the set of 4 Bilsteins from the WS6 Store (good people to deal with, by the way).
Had them put on, and discovered one of the front sway bar brackets was snapped off altogether, and the other one was well on its way to being broken. They appear to have corroded until the thin metal just snapped.
Also, both front shocks were leaking, and the tops were extremely rusty.
This car has been babied, and rarely driven in inclement weather. To say I am surprised would be an understatement.
Anyway, now that it has fresh sway bar brackets, fresh Bilsteins, and new endlinks, it rides and handles beautifully, just like new.
Might be a suggestion for other F-body owners to take a close look at your suspension.
