I have a question maybe somebody here can help me out. I have a 97 ss true 30th aniversary. On my front clip it has the ss emblem instead of the bow tie like most I have seen have. Any ideas? Later production? Option? I can't find an answer. Thanks!!

Sounds like someone replaced the Bowtie with SS badges, I have seen several LT1 SS cars like that. But they came from the factory with the Bowtie.

 

I think I might try contacting slp. The car only has 5k miles on it so I can't see the emblem being replaced by an aftermarket ss emblem but I agree all the ones I have seen have the bowtie instead of ss emblem.

 

I haven't seen any other real SS, but my 97 SS has the Bow tie in it. It's a 30th, build #0502, I bought from the original owner that ordered it... You might want to look to see if it got repainted and got replaced with the other type or try to find original owner and ask if they had replaced it at last resort...

 

I have a 30th Anniversary SS as well and mine has the Chevy emblem. The dealer could have added it if you think it came off the lot that way. But its not "factory".
