Someone Please Explain! Hey,
I need some help with these Firehawks. What confuses me is that sometimes I see a Firehawk with the low spoiler and the long break light... then I think I've also seen the front bumper with the fog lamps right above the DRLs. But then I've also seen the high spoiler and the big fog lamps that look
. Can someone please key me in on this?....

A Firehawk from the front is going to have either a normal looking Formula or Trans Am front bumper (of course the hood is going to be different). Fog lights small and right next to the DRL are formula's. Fog lights in the center (and big) are the TA's.
Some Firehawk's have the standard GM wing for their base model, others have SLP optioned wings. Our Formula Firehawk has the standard low rise formula wing with the small brakelight from GM. I've seen TA Firehawks..some have the stock high-rise TA wing, others have sorta a medium-rise SLP optioned with with the long led brake light. The medium-rise SLP optioned ones that I know of have no gap between the wing and the rest of the trunk lid.
If it's got one of the long led brake lights, it's definitely an SLP optioned wing. I don't know about prior years, but in 2002, SLP didn't do any optional spoilers with small brake lights.

It was like a $1,000 option. I didn't see the point of taking a Trans Am with the "high level spoiler", one of the signifying marks of a Trans Am from a Firebird or Formula, and paying to make it look like a Firebird of Formula again, so I did not choose that option when I ordered my Firehawk. Not sure how many did, but that was the only outside appearance option, other than painted or chrome wheels, that you could order on a Firehawk. The rest were internal, suspension and driveline.
