Default Finally Took Home A Trophy

Well, I put the Formula in it's 2nd show yesterday and actually walked away with 2 awards. Have to say I was surpised but they were for "Best Car 1981-Present" and "Best Contemporary". Weather was horrible off and on all day with rain here and there and even sleet at one point. After all the rain cleared out things weren't too bad except for the 35-40 mph winds and temperatures being in the 40's. First show of the season for me, and have to say that I'm looking forward to the rest of the show season now.

Very sweet. Congrats.
What took home first? A lot of the time I see some nasty cars taking home #1's...

Well, if I'm not mistaken it was either an older F100 truck or a 427 Vette. To be honest I wasn't to thrilled with the judging from one regard cause they didn't look to close at the cars during judging. That helped me out though, cause i missed detailing a few spots on the car and didn't see them till I got there. An older Rolls Royce took home the People's Choice award though.

Thanks. And if all goes well, I hope it takes home another one at the Year One show in a couple of weeks. Guess it all depends on if Brent brings his Blackbird up again, considering that he's won the same class mine would be in the last 2 times.

Congrats man, what show was it? I went to the Dixie Cruisers benefit cruise in on the 2nd and wa the only late-model to take an award. Nothing special though, just top 10 award but my dad's SOM 53 chevy pick up also took an award. This cruise in was at Chateau Elan.

Sorry, guess I should have mentioned that in the first post. It was the Blast From the Fast Past show at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta. Wasn't too impressed by the judging to be honest. Think it might've had something to do with the 35mph winds and cold temperature, but they hardly even looked at the cars. Granted it wasn't like the STARS or TA Nats. but I still would've thought they'd done more than just basically a walkaround.

We had some nasty wind too, but luckily Paddy's(sp) cafe was right there for us to retreat inside.

Hey Birdman hows it going!! I am still waiting for my car show season to begin. Did you drive your car to the show? Have you added anything to your
toy list? Great job on the trophy and use some sun-tan lotion next time

No. I put the queen in the trailer this time to take it to Florida. I got to dive it in the 5 mile Trans Am caravan to Destin and back to the show grounds. Lots of fun. As for new toys! I'm trying to work a deal on a 1997 LT4 Firehawk Black. Beautiful car. Only 29 of these beauties were built for the public. Only has 9K on the clock. Also looking at a 1991 Formula Blue from the original owner. Not as rare but still very sweet. It has a mini ram installed in place of the old tune port set up. Also on another note Congrats to Brent and Norm for their win at Year One last week. Blackbirds rule! Mike Hope you get to drive that beauty of a car soon.

Default Great Pics.

Thanks Guys for posting the pics of Road Atlanta. I was unable get pics myself due to the wife riding shotgun around the track. The 2 look great going down the track. Next year we need to try and get all of us going down the track toghter. That would make one sweet and rare pic. Norm .Year One said that they would mail your award and gift cert. to you but you may want to call to see if it shipped already.
