And something looks wrong with the hood. I thought it was aftermarket just on account of the poor fittment.
This is likely a combination of two reasons:

1) GM notes the V8 Firebirds as "Formula Trans Am", instead of giving each a seperate code

2) Dumb *** car salesmen don't know the difference between the two. I've had that argument more than once with a "road side" (as opposed to virtual) car dealer because they want to charge the Kelly Blue Book retail price for a Trans Am, though they may have a a V8 formula for sale.

I got another one for you...

Is this a real WS6? Sorry, no pics of RPO codes.

It's got the Ram Air hood...

It's got the WS6 Badge...

But look under the hood...

I thought it was supposed to look like this:

Even with the cars that came with the ram air, people still go with a lid, so that doesn't really mean anything. If it was the stock non ram air box, then questions would come up.

You're definitely right about the dumb *** car salesmen.

But, GM notes the Trans Am as a "Formula", or a "Formula Trans Am" (cuz that's what it is: a Formula with the Trans Am option package), but they do not call the Formula a "Formula Trans Am".

KOMIK NO!!!! that is NOT a factory WS6 air box. as far as the hood goes, it looks more like a firehawk hood than a regular ram air hood, which leads me to believe this vehicle may have been in a front end collision before and had the hood and bumper cover replaced.

So does anyone know how rare the "formula" WS6's are?

Pretty damn rare in the last few years. No 2001 or 2002 ones made. Only about 200 made in 2000...seems like about the same number in 1999. I *think* I remember that there were several hundred made in 1998? Only numbers I'm sure of are the ~200 in 2000 and zero in 2001+.
