Default New to the WS6

I just bought a '97 Trans-Am WS6 with 27,000 one owner original miles for $13,500. I guess it doesnt matter now, but was this a good price or not? The carfax checked out fine and its in new condition. Its forest green with all the extras except leather seats.
What should I upgrade first and what should my plan for upgrades be so I can get the most power out of my car without killing my bank account?
Can anyone reccomend a good online store? One last question, what cars should I be able to be beat stock vs. stock? Thanks!

First: Define your objective(s) 1/4 mile, autocross racing, daily driver, etc.

If you don't have suspension upgrades, I suggest you begin w/SFC's to strengthen the undercarriage (these f-bodies do have some torque).

Secondly: Headers w/maybe a cutout or different exhaust system.

Third: If you want bolt-ins', then perhaps a cam, but you should have all bolt-ons performed first, but many don't adhere to this rule of thumb.

Weak links with aftermarket internals (LT's) also: 10 bolts, clutch (M6).

I have the basics on my car designed for internal mods (all except a 9" or 12bolt and clutch) which is the next step!

Good luck on your LT1 mods

Go with header's and a cat back exhaust, while your at it, get an air lid, the combination of the two REALLY wake this car up....revs quicker, and all in all sounds great too! Good luck with your new ride!! Oh yeah, Welcome

since you are an LT1 car you kinda have some catch up to do....like others said, you failed to explain your purpose with the car but if you are looking for the best bang for your buck I would suggest long-tube headers, y-pipe, catback and intake for starters...this alone will run you at least 1g.....try thunder racing for starters...ask for Jonathon

nice low miles. Buy a vortech on ebay and be done with it. Dont wate money on air lids and stickers and fuzzy dice. You can get a lt1 set up cheap.
