Default 345hp Option

Does anyone know how many SS came from SLP with the 345hp option in 2001? I've been looking and can't find anything. I've found a bunch of sites listing how many SS's and options, but nothing about the 345hp option.

The 345hp option wasn't available in '01 on SS's or Firehawks.

It became standard on Firehawks in '02 and an option on the SS.

The Blackwing lid didn't show up 'till '02 and that was the key to bumping the rating from 335 to 345... ~Joshua

If you had an '02 made before the parts were available SLP actually sent them to the (original) owners.

That's what I heard from the General Manager of a huge Atlanta GM store. We struck up a conversation at a party we were at. ~Joshua

You could get it, but you had to pay for it IIRC.

Yeah that's right. He said that the buyers were told of the 345 package, and since it wasn't out (during that brief period) they would deliver (and install if needed) the the remainder of the parts.

If that huge Atl store was Jumper they didn't tell me and it wasn't on the SLP order form. I didn't even read anything about the 345hp deal on the internet until several months after I took delivery of my car.

I have an 02 with the 345hp option and I didn't even know that it wasn't available in 01. you could probably find out the exact build number if you contact SLP.

TomJumper/BillHeard (same group).....

Close, maybe I should have said 2nd biggest. Power...shifts all the time, that "GM" isn't even there anymore (he's at Jim Ellis Mazda now) [you know, if you're in the game your resume' has frequent, yet glamorus changes] he still had the info... and he could hold his liquor too. The devil, as cold as he was, he's cool as hell. He get's my vote. ~Joshua

The DD was available since '99

It had "louder" muffler design starting in the 2002 year, but the DD by itself isn't the key to the 345 package, just a part of it.

Wouldn't having the 345hp option give you a higher crank hp than one without...?
