Default 98 SS Options

Hello,

I purchased a 98 SS last April, and finally sent the vin to SLP to get the build number. Here is the reply I got:

"Yours is '98 SS number 1150. It was produced as a base SS without any Y2Y/SLP content other than the base SS content."

My questions is what is Y2Y/SLP content my car doesn't have?

Thanks in advance,

I don't have my brochure with me here at work, but I think it was dual outlet exhaust, SLP floor mats, Belstein Suspension, and SS key chain. I think that was it for the 98 model year.

It would be slp options such as the floor mats, key fobs, dash plaque, and chrome ZR1's as well as a few things I may be forgetting like a portfolio? My 98 SS is the same way with only the wu8 rpo code or whatever it is for the SS but no Y2Y code since it has no slp options.

The Y2Y/SLP content that was available for '98 was:

SLP Dual-Dual Exhaust
Hurst Short Throw Shifter
Castrol Syntec Lubes Package
Bilstein Ultra Performance Suspension System
Auburn High Torque Differential
Torsen Differential
Chrome ZR1 Style Wheels
SS Front Floor Mats
SS Dash Plaque and Key Fobs
SS Car Cover

Every SS made from 1996-2002 went to SLP regardless of content.

Yes, we did produce all of the '96-'97 WS6's and we helped ASC out by producing a bunch of the later WS6's for them as well.

So did the 96-97 WS6s get build numbers like the SS's did? I assume the ones you helped ASC with didnt...

The 96-97 cars had build numbers, I saw them in the database a couple of years ago - I haven't looked for them in a while.

ASC did the WS6 - there was some SLP help, but I'm not sure yet if it was limited to specialty items such as hoods, etc... I know ASC numbered their cars and at one point someone from ASC was giving out info that someone had to capture.

Thats really interesting info...I had heard about one SS that was a fluke and was sent to SLP for the SS package and also made it to the place that put on SAP packages...is that true? You read so many odd ball things on the internet I never know whats actually the truth, and when it comes to people talking about SLP no one seems to get their facts together so its nice to actually talk to someone who would know.

Hey Dave would you have any info on 99 WS6s? I contacted a fellow from there(can't remember the name) but he said he had incomplete info for that period in time.

I don't have any of the 1998-2002 WS6 info.

How many 98's came with the Y2Y/SLP Options? I am almost positive mine is the only 1LE of the Three SS's that got it, but how many regular SS's?
