Incorrect, I remember looking at a 96-WS-6 back in 96 and it had the WS-6 badge on the back as well as the Ram-Air decals on the hood.

It's a fact that The WS6 performance package was offered in 96-97 for LT1 cars and continued 98-02 on LS1 cars.

Just like the SS performance package was on 96-97 LT1 Camaros and continued on 98-02 LS1 cars.

Class is out, where's the beer?

By the way, the car in his ebay add is a fake, it has the smaller 16" wheels instead of the 17 inchers, and the hood is an aftermarket... it's not even close in apearance to the factory one..

Fake!

Fake Badge, Sun Coast Raptor Hood, stock chrome 16s. SLP built the LT1 WS6 cars, Firehawks and Comp TAs, in 98 ASC started doing the conversion on WS6s, SLP still built the SS and Hawk though.

It could still be a real WS6 being that it's 11 years old the person could have sold the WS6 wheels (in 96 only painted were offered) , and only Chrome 16" were available on the 96/97 convertible WS6's.

He does have the OEM Pontiac airbox and back then that rir box was over $600. The hood as you know if aftermarket.

Before calling him out more info on the car is needed.

That still how ever leaves the fake badge being a very possible dead give away, also the air box could have been easily purchased used, its been a while, I have seen those boxes for sale in the past on LT1 sites like CZ28.com. The car is most likley a fake being sold by an uninformed dealer. Only true varification would come via a photo of the rpo codes.

What do the exhaust tips look like? I know there is a good possibility that they have been changed or replaced but the WS6's also had oval tips. I have a red 96 WS6 TA with M6 but can't access EBAY from work I'll have a peak later today.

Sorry no picks of the back posted.

Just to be a goober, WS6 was offered on the cars from what something like 85 and on. I know my 89 Formula350 said WS6 on the wheels center caps...But it was a suspension package more than anything else.

I thought slp originally equipped the ws6 cars with a single outlet on the driver side???? I bought mine with a stainless tuneable borla and i never thought to ask the original owner, not to mention a drive back from kentucky illegally in my WS6 all the way to buffalo NY kept my mind all over the place

The post above yours seems to speak for the SLP-converted ('96-'97) WS6 cars. I had also heard that the '97 SS cars came w/ a dual-out on the left system, or was at least a SLP option (and I've seen a few SSs like that too).

In '98, when ASC won the contract for converting WS6s, SS and WS6 cars came from the St. Therese plant w/ a GM-installed SOTL (Single 3.5" chrome round tip On The Left) exhaust. In '99, GM had to tone it down a few dB (and respond to complaints about a single exhaust) and changed to a dual 2.5" chrome round tips on SS and WS6 cars. Of course, SLP offered additional exhaust options on SS cars.
