VIN for SOM
VIN has nothing to do the color code.
You can have a dealer run the VIN thru the system & get the build codes for the car which may have the color code noted.
Sunset Orange Metallic was a 2001-2 color only I believe.

FWIW, i am in gm parts at a dealer, my catalog shows that the new copper color on the vettes is "sunset orange metallic" also, if you just want the color code. otherwise, you look at the RPO which is 71u

That's very interesting. Sunset Orange Metallic on a Camaro was never the same as on a Pontiac for some reason back in 2002, and then Chevy tried "Atomic" and "Daytona" which were not quite the same.
I wonder why six years after the demise of the F-body Chevy would do something like that? Is the shade any different than it has been the past few years at all?
Do you have any color swatches you can post on here of Jetstream Blue and Crystal Red? From what I can tell on other Corvette posts around the internet, Crystal Red will be a duplicate of Buick's Crimson Pearl Metallic which my family had on a 2003 Buick LeSabre Celebration Edition a few years back.
