"banshee" trans am/formula???
"banshee" trans am/formula??? soo last night at one of the local meets, i noticed a silver "banshee"...
it had a t/a front end, t/a hatch, and a v6/formula bumper with "banshee" written on the back where "formula" would usually be..
there was a little plaque on the center console that identified it as being a special build car from clearwater, florida.
needless to say, i have never heard of these, and i thought i knew of every "special edition" car. it was an LT1 car, too.
anyone else know anything about these?

i thought the banshee was a car that pontiac designed to be the "replacement" for the trans am/firebird, back before they came out with the fourth gen. It was a concept car or something. i remember that i have a little hot wheels car of it somewhere, it is pretty cool looking. dunno GOOGLE time!

You are correct, the only ones that were GM Tier 1 were the SLP cars. The Pro Ams if I remember right were done by Choo Choo Customs in Tennessee. Same company that did some of the convertible conversions for dealers on IROCs and Formulas 85-89ish.
