how much clearance is needed (exhaust wise) for the crossmember mounted torque arms require? i have 3" true x pipe duals. you don't have a driveshaft loop that works with the stock style torque arm?

Would there really be THAT much of a weight difference between CroMo and mild steel? Seems on a piece that size it wouldn`t be worth an additional $110.00. It is however a nice looking part.

Does the Spohn hang any lower than the stock. My duals are built around the stock TA and that's my only concern. I would love it if had more clearence?

You may want to go with the stock location unit...

I understand that....definately the one off the Tranny Tail shaft, there is no way for the tunnel mount one to fit. I was just wondering if I install it, will the overall geometry of the arm be thicker (from top of the tunnel to bottom of the tunnel) than the stock one? Whenever I jack up the car and I don't load the rear suspension the TA rest right atop my DR side pipe - not enough to cause damage just enough to make me uncomfortable. I was wondering if the Spohn would provide a little extra clearence (i.e. thinner or sits higher in the tunnel). Thanks !

The tubular torque arm will take up slightlly more space than the stock stamped piece. Without having both sided by side, I cannot tell you exactly.

We have one order in.

Per Spohn:
The weight savings on the 405/402 is 3 lbs. On the full length trans
mounted arm (# 399) it's 4 lbs.

The main advantage to the 4130 is strength. Yes, you save some
weight, but the main advantage is the fact that it's close to twice the
strength.
