Default upgrading stereo

hey guys,

I want to replace my stock speaker, 98 trans am with monsoon, with possibly the kee audio premium package and keep the monsoon amp in there. I am just wondering how good the sound will be assuming a get a decent head unit (any suggestions, not trying to spend a whole lot on it). I have a tsx with JL TR speakers and it sounds pretty decent, would this be somewhat equivalent?

Why would you ever do that? Just bring your own decent amp.

I thought that the point of the Kee system is that it works with the monsoon system? Where should I bring my own decent amp to or maybe I should buy and install one. Aren't words funny....

yes you can do it but it wont be a huge improvement over stock, not as much as an aftermarket amp will be.

Speakers are the biggest improvement over stock, but bringing your own amp and crossovers is also a big step up.

it'll definitely be a huge improvement, but you'll want to eventually replace the amp.

he's saying he wants to BUY the amp, which is dumb, because a good amp doesn't cost that much. I got my Eclipse 60Wx2 amp on Ebay for like $50 a few years back. (Not part of my main system these days, but it'll be going in whatever beater I end up driving for this coming winter)
