Were are the speakers mounted?
If i remember correctly, the two f-bodies that i have had before my ws6 had 2 speakers in the front, 2 in the rear seating area, and two in the hatch area, then one sub in the back. How are the speakers in the hatch area mounted? Anybody have some pictures? I cant seem to find a way to mount any speakers there. Also, does anyone know if certain aftermarket head units will limit me to 4 speakers? I have a Pioneer DEH-7600MP if that helps. Thanks guys

No 4th generation f-body has ever had the speaker configuration you mentioned. Early (93-96) Camaros were the only ones that had a single subwoofer in the back - that was with the Bose system but it never had hatch speakers.
The Monsoon system in 97+ f-bodies has 4" hatch speakers (4" mids and .75" tweeters in Firebirds) that mount to the underside of the plastic trim panels. If you don't have the Monsoon system then you have no hatch speakers and the trim panels won't have the grilles and mounts for them.

I replaced my stockers a long time ago. I believe they were held in with really strong tabs. When I replaced them, I had my new speakers screwed into the original holes. Could I have filled in the extra holes...yeah. But I always keep the grills in place.
From what I remember, the early 93-96 F-bodies only had 1 speaker grill opening on the left side
