Stealth box setup vs dual hatch box?
I'm modding my car's audio this upcoming week. I have been looking at the stealth boxes and the dual 10" hatch boxes that fit the trunk.
I'm wanting to go with dual 10" Memphis M3's or Alpine Type R's, but I have a concern. The dual 10" box weighs 28 lbs. The M3's are around 25 lbs and the Type R's are 16 lbs a piece.
Will the added weight of the hatch box and dual speakers be too much. Or is the added weight dismissive? Any help is appreciated!!

1 Yes I have T tops
2 I normally don't have it up, but like it to really punch when I want.
3 I don't know if I should be worried about it or not? I had a buddy saying that weight is a big deal!
4 It's a DD for now! But I've taken it to the track before.

If you have ttops, hands down the stealth box. I have a stealth box with an alpine type r 10 running off of an alpine mrpm500. Sounds great. i did the "big" systems in my old 99 z28{2 type s 10's, 2 L7 10's}. The stealth box still gives off good bass, and imo, is way better bc of ttops.

a few of my buddys have bigger systems in there fbodys with 2 12s. And what they always do is pull the box when they are at the drag strip, takes less then a minute to lift the box out and unhook it. IMO for daily driving the difference will be nill with the extra weight, and hell if you have shitty tires will help ur traction.
I had 2 15s in the back of my foxbody mustang at one point it was like 150lbs subs and box. Car was faster with em out but I could launch the car 100x better with the added weight over the back of the car

Can anyone comment on the Trunk box with T-top slots?
Do they rattle while in the slot? Any cons to having this box? Also for you people having 12's in your cars, does the car begin to rattle alot more after a while of use?
Thanks

I'd go with the stealth setup so nobody tries to steal your stuff. If somebody walks by and sees two 12's and an amp, it's going to tempt them....unless your back glass is as dark as mine(5%)

IMO the stealth box is a POS. I had subthump stealth with a RE SE 10'' sub. Didn't hit hard at all. Went with a 1.2 cbft ported box and it blew that POS stealth box away. If I was you I would go with 1 RE SE 10'' sub and a ported box.

Well of course a bigger box is gonna blow a small sealed box away, especially a ported one. The stealth b ox gives decent bass, with minimal space. A stealth box is not gonna rattle your windows but it will give you a clean bass that fills the low end nicely.

I took my system out not jus because of the added weight but because of better ride quality. With the extra 100 or so lbs that I was lugging everywhere, the axle would hit the bump stops harder and couldn't really control the weight of the rear. This is with Strano's/Koni's.

Damn im in a bind...I'm not necessarily looking for something that's just loud and rattles... I'm looking for pure clean bass and if that can be had with the stealth box, I'll buy it, otherwise I would have to get the hatch box.
