Default Two headunit setup?

Has anyone done this? I want to get Double din monitor/dvd player and replace the hvac controls with my current headunit and move the hvac to the center console. How do you get them both to work with my sound system?

Why would you want to do that? Just get a double din headunit instead of just a monitor.

That's allot of extra work for no reason. Just get a double din that plays DVD's or even a single din with a flip out monitor.

The whole question is WHY?!?!? What is the purpose? Seems unnecessary.

I don't get it either. Never seen it done and I'm sure its possible, but don't see why.. and moving the hvac controls to the console would be a b*tch. I would save up a few extra bucks and get a decent dbl din and mod the bezel. With all the work you'll put into moving stuff around it will end up easier and cheaper.

I'm going through trying to return my dads vette back to original after someone did a hack job on different things and let me tell you it's been a f'in disaster IMO if you are going to do mods like this be carefull or put in the extra effort to try to be able to reverse whatever you do, when you sell it might make the difference to your potential buyer wheather or not you sell it.

So NOBODY has done this??

I'm interested as I have several vehicles, a t/a being one of them, that I'm trying to setup my HTC Touch Pro as a central computer system for. The idea is outfit the 3 vehicles identically, and just bring the "computer" with me when I go.

Can this really be done or not? And can it be done economically...as in, less than 50 bucks for a clean looking setup at the end?

The rest of the car is already outfitted, so it's just the dash situation I'm trying to sort out......if I knew it would be possible to physically mount two separate units in the dash I could save some serious bucks here.

EDIT: Found someone here who had done it, actually doesn't look half bad! Now to figure out how to bolt the units in place....
