Default Short antenna for 8mm?

Does anyone make a short antenna that works with the 8mm post on the Z28 or where can I get an adapter to make one of the other ones out there work?

I'm sure I'll be in the minority here, but I don't like the way the bitviper antenna looks. Maybe if I keep looking at it my mind will change, but probably not.

I just cut the stock one. put the base of the antenna in a vice then take a rag and a pair of vice grips and lock down on the ball at the top. make sure to use the rag so you dont mark the ball up. then twist it until it comes off. cut the antenna to the length you want and take it to a bench grinder and put a small point on the top of the antenna. then take a piece of wood and put a small hole in it for the ball to fit in and use a hammer to smack the antenna back into the ball. dont try and hold the ball, it will just shoot out of you.

Thanks! I'll try that. I had read while searching that I should cut it to a multiple of the original length? Is there truth in this? Seems you don't want to cut them less than 8" also? I mean 8-12 would be a lot better than 30 or whatever it is at stock height anyway.
