Default Home made shift light for 5th gen LS3

Ok I bought a summit rpm activated switch http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-830450-1 and a bright LED (non-sponsor link removed). I want to do a factory looking shift light. This LED is bright but not so bright from the side. I was thinking of putting it in the dome light console in the drivers side area that looks like a panel. But not sure if it will be bright enough there. I also need to know how to hook the switch up. The directions say to hook it up to the neg side of coil. Will i need a amplifier? Where do you think I could put this led so its not noticable when not in use and looks like it could belong there. I got the black led housing with red led. things blinding bright.
