Default Looking for garage door opener for sunvisor

I'm going to re-cover my sun visors so they look like new again.

Also I'm not a big fan of the visor mount garage door opened I currently have in the Trans AM.

In re-doing my visors, I'd like to add a 3rd party universal remove of some sort. It'll be stealth and no worries of it flying off the visor when the T-tops are off

Does anyone know of such a device?

May be able to get one of the UGDOs out of a GM or Chrysler that are already mounted in the visor to work, with some reinforcement of some kind. I was actually thinking about this same thing the other day since my opener doesn't have a clip, so it just sits in the center console. Not sure if my wife would like me removing the one in her visor out of her van though to try it out lol.

I was thinking of that option also, but I'm unsure if the entire remote control unit is in the other model sun-visor or if there is a wire running from the buttons to the dash to work?

The whole assembly in the visor is all you need, then run wires to power/ground. A few guys had done this in thirdgens by mounting the UGDO under the massive dash that hangs over the steering column lol.

I was doing a search on here and there's a thread about using the cigarette lighter as a switch for the opener too.

That was an odd comment for a new thread.

There are many different universal visor remotes on eBay. Just do a search for "homelink". They range from under $20 to around $40.

wow that is amazing... years ago I took my clip on remote and wired it to a TCS and stuck the unit inside the dash on top of my radio, I replace the battery every couple of years. Glad to see somebody finally made one for the visor.
