Default Brake switch replacement

Wondering if anyone here has done a brake switch replacement..was it necessary to have the new switch programmed to the brake pedal?

I'm chasing down brake lights not working right now. Checked BAS fuses and relay, those checked out. Everything is pointing to the brake switch at this point, just wondering if a programmed relearn is required afterwards?

Car is a 2005 CTS-V
