Default Two connectors behind radio bezel?

I took off the radio bezel to prep for adding a new HU. I expected to see just the fog light connector, however there is another connector next to it where ASR would be. However this car doesn’t have asr and it is clipped into a blank hole plate, not a switch.

Is this just extra extra wiring that is in every car off the assembly line to make it easier?

That is probably the case but if you post the colors of the wires in the connector we can confirm from the schematics.

Thanks whitebird! I have 5 wires, brown, brown and white, black and white, purple and white, and gray in a black connector.
The connector that I believe is for the fog lights is a gray connector with green, yellow, brown, black and gray wires.

i took pictures but can’t seem to get them to upload.

Yes, the ASR switch connector is a 6-pin black connector with purple/white, brown, gray wires across one row and brown/white, black/white and an empty spot across the other row.
