Default powerseat conversion

have a 97 trans am with the regular cloth manual seats and wanted to install the oem factory power seats so I wanted to know what I need to do to make the conversion ?

You'll want to get everything you possibly can at once. You want the seats, rails, harness all the way to the fusebox and if you get the side bolster seats you'll also need to get the air hoses.

Basically unbolt the seat brackets from the floor and unplug the wiring and hose, then remove the seats, then remove the console and the plastic trim along the sill plate and kick panel, then pull back the carpet, then grab everything (wiring and hose) that connects to the seats. You should also grab the back seats so you have a matched set.

Apply 12 volt power to the power seats first to see if all actuators operate before wasting time installing them.

you can use regular power seats instead of the TA air bag seats.....jus sayin....

The only difference in the procedure is the hose that runs from the drivers to passengers seat. The pump and blatters are contained in the seat. It's amazingly simple. Incredibly heavy though lol
