Wierd electrical problem.

Wierd electrical problem. When it gets really cold out and my car sets for an extended period of time (over night or all day at work). When I go to start it, the gauges go crazy and bounce around and my trip resets. It seems to run just fine, but it takes a second for the gauges to start working. Any ideas?

bad battery, if you have a AC delco, check to see if acid is leaking out of the passenger terminal. had the same thing a month ago. went with a optima
