Default factory alarm problems

My alarm is going crazy, disconnected the horn, disconnected the shock sensor, disabled the shock sensor in the program mode. Now the light just blinks. Does any body know where the alarm box is located? Can I just disconnect it?

No, the factory alarm is controlled by the BCM and you can't just disconnect it.

Is there a way to permently disarm the alarm? I just got a viper 690 installed and occasionally when my passenger locks the door from the inside and I arm the viper, there is no problems. But when I disarm the viper and open the door the factory alarm goes off. Is there a way to permanatly disarm the factory?

Try closing the door after removing the RADIO fuse but before turning the key to the accessory position.

The only way to prevent that but still have a working alarm is to unlock using the remote key fob. If you don't have a fob, you can get one from Amazon or Ebay and program it to match the car. Otherwise, you'll have to disable the alarm using the instructions above. That's because the alarm system is not connected to the door lock cylinder so when the door is opened without disarming the alarm with the fob (even when unlocked with the key), it assumes the car is being broken into.

Hi everyone,

I recently import in France a new BCM (UPL, 691) to remplace my BAS, 681 and add Keyless entry. So I have it now and it work perfectly. Except I don't have the "Panic button" working and the turns signals don't flash when I lock or unlock the car (with the horn signal too).

So, I guess the flashing and horn signal come with the alarm? Or it can be programmed? Because I try : On (Or run with the engine started?), Off, Take off the fuse, ACC and nothing happened to me..

Thanks !

The entry verification options (lights flash and horn honks) are only programmable with the optional alarm system. With basic keyless entry you can only program Exit Lighting, Delayed Illumination, Last Door Closed Locking and Lockout Prevention.

Here is the information on programming from your owner's manual:

PROGRAMMING THE FACTORY ALARM

ENTERING PROGRAMMING MODE

To program features, the car must be in programming mode.

1) Turn key to RUN position (do not start car).
2) Turn key to OFF position.
3) Remove the RADIO fuse in the main fuse panel.
4) Turn the key to ACC position.

You should hear a chime to verify that the system is in the programming mode.
1 chime means you can program Exit Lighting, Delayed Illumination, Last Door Closed Locking and Lock Out.
2 chimes means your car is equipped with Content Theft-Deterrent System so you can also program Remote Keyless Entry Verification, Arming Method, Arming Verification, Driver's Door Delay and Shock Sensor Enable.

Already answered above...

So yes, the flashing parking lights and horn chirp come only with the alarm system (Content Theft-Deterrent System).

Hi,

So.. I did it in the wrong way. I retry today, and I have 2 chimes, so content Theft-Deterrent System. BUT, I programming in the right way everything, and I don't have my turn signals flashing or Horn chirp anyway... An Idea?

The Theft Deterrent Verification will only work if you actually arm the alarm system which means you first have to set Theft Deterrent Arming Method to something other than mode 1.

The Remote Keyless Entry Verification should work even if the alarm is not armed. Most people prefer mode 5 so that the horn only sounds if you press the remote's lock button twice (only the lights flash otherwise). Also, the remote has to be matched to the car... if your remote locks and unlocks the doors then it is already matched. After you hear the two chimes indicating that your have entered programming mode and you have the optional alarm system, press the unlock button on your remote. The system will chime 1-5 times to tell you what mode is set. Press the unlock button on the remote and count the chimes each time until you get to the number of chimes that correspond to the mode you want to set. Then turn the ignition off and replace the RADIO fuse to exit programming mode.

Trust me, it will work as long as you have the alarm option in your car and you follow the instructions exactly. If it doesn't work, go back and do it again. There have been plenty of members on here who have complained that it doesn't work and then come back a few days later saying it worked after they slowed down and did all the steps exactly as listed.

The only thing can be an issue, it's that : the shock sensor, the speaker under the hood and one of 2 interior sensor was removed. Probably a previous owner. So I guess it won't work?

If I remember right, the Theft Deterrent Arming is on the Mode 4
