Default Monsoon display not visable...

I just bought my first f-body, a 97 T/A, 85k, with the monsoon system. The sceen which displays what radio sation, etc, does not light up, and i cant read it. In certain light angles i can just barely make out the numbers.

Is this a common thing? Is it just a bulb that can be replaced, or is it all the way broken?

Also, the right door speaker is on its way out, very crackly on bass notes. Should i find a stock speaker to replace it with, or should i spend the money and replace all the factory speakers. How good are the stock speakers, since they are 11 years old?
