Default Alpine bluetooth adapter

I just purchased an alpine 9884 HU b/c I thought the bluetooth capabilities were pretty cool. However I just realized that you have to have another $150 KCE-300BT adapter for it to even work! Does anyone have this? Is it really worth the price? Is it a quality unit? Where did you mount the microphone?

I may be able to get that for you. I actually have to go pick up a 9884 for a client from my distributor to ship out Monday so I can find out for you then. Cheapest I've seen it for is in the upper $160.00's though without shipping.

Every, and I mean every, review of the BT add-on for the Alpine says it sucks..big time... that the voice quality sounds like they're in a sewer pipe, people can't hear them, etc... and we all know the f-bodies are louder than most cars inside.

YMMV.
