Default Monsoon ???

What is the part number for a 2001 camaro monsoon head unit? Also, what would cause little or no sound to be coming from the rear speakers when they're brand new? Could the fade be broken in the head unit? Or could the amp be messed up?

Part number for the single CD Monsoon head unit is 10306067. There is no listing for a cassette head unit for 01-02 so it may not have been available (or it isn't available as a replacement part).

By rear speakers do you mean the sail panel subs or the small hatch speakers? Did you replace them with factory parts or aftermarket?

The rear speakers, not the sail panel. Hardly any sound comes from them. They are replacement. What might the problem be? The head unit?

The ONLY difference between the Monsoon and the regular CD HU is the Monsoon name on it. The Monsoon amp is set up to accept an input voltage greater than what a regular amp take through the RCA plugs.

It is possible but unlikely that the head unit is causing the problem. What kind of replacement speakers did you use?
